Order of the Larian Blade

An esteemed and disciplined organization that serves as the martial arm of the Arialist faith, dedicated to upholding the tenets of sacrifice, cohesion, and the divine will of Arior. The primary purpose of the Order is to protect the faithful, defend the realm from external threats, and enforce the will of Arior in Mellanvarlden as defenders of the faith, both spiritually and physically.  

Ranks

Grand Master: the highest authority, chosen by the Arch-Priest for their exceptional piety, combat skills, and strategic acumen.
  Commanders: lead regional chapters and oversee military campaigns.
  Larian Blades: knights who have proven their dedication and prowess in battle or through adventure.
  Squires: aspiring members in training, learning both combat and the teachings of the Arialist faith.
  The Trials of Ascension are carried out in a way that aspirants must undergo challenging trials to prove their worthiness. These trials include feats of strength, endurance, and spiritual insight, often set in symbolic locations tied to the faith, mentioned in the Tome of Aeons.

Training and Initiation:

 
Aspiring knights go through rigorous physical and spiritual training. Combat training includes mastery of various weapons, horse riding, and strategic warfare. Spiritual training involves studying the Tome of Aeons and understanding the nuances of Arialism.

Armor and Insignia:

The Templars of the Larian Blade don a distinctive set of armor adorned with symbols representing Arior and the three pillars of Arialism. The emblem is a golden blade, symbolizing the order's commitment to protecting the faithful.

Oaths and Vows:

Templars swear oaths of loyalty to Arior, pledging to uphold sacrifice, cohesion, and the divine will. Vows of poverty and humility ensure detachment from worldly distractions.

Duties and Responsibilities:

- Defend Arialist temples and holy sites.
- Lead crusades against perceived threats to the faith.
- Maintain order in Arialist territories.

The Code of Chivalry:

Adheres to a strict code of chivalry that emphasizes honor, justice, and compassion. The code reinforces the importance of sacrifice for the greater good.  

Heraldry:

Each chapter of the Order has its unique heraldry, often featuring symbols associated with Arior or iconic imagery from the Tome of Aeons. Battle standards prominently display the golden blade emblem.

Larian Steeds:

The Templars are known for their majestic Larian Steeds, specially bred for strength, speed, and unwavering loyalty. These steeds are considered sacred, and a knight's bond with their mount is a reflection of the cohesion preached by Arialism.

Inquisition:

The Order is entrusted with rooting out heresy within Arialist territories. Inquisitors, chosen for their unwavering faith and investigative skills, work alongside the Templars to identify and eliminate threats to the purity of the faith.

Strongholds and Citadels:

The Order maintains imposing fortresses strategically positioned across Manniskar, but especially around the Guardian Peaks. These citadels serve as training grounds, strategic hubs, and symbols of Arialist strength.

Other Ideas:

The Larian Blade is skilled in forging a special steel alloy, supposedly infused with the essence of Larianor, Beställa. Weapons and armor made from these alloys are not only exceptionally durable but are believed to enhance a knight's connection to Arior, blessed by the Golden God.

Knights embark on sacred pilgrimages to key locations mentioned in the Tome of Aeons.
The raising of the sacred banner before a campaign is a ceremonial event. The Grand Master blesses the banner, and its presence on the battlefield is believed to bring divine favor.
Alongside their martial duties, Templars run Healing Houses that offer medical aid to the wounded.
These establishments embody the compassionate aspect of Arialism, showcasing the order's commitment to alleviating suffering.
