House Darksky is a relatively new house within the North, having migrated from Essos during the second long night and making a name for themselves in the fight against the Night King. As followers of R'hllor, they were guided to cross the narrow sea and they played a pivotal role in keeping many villages along the northeastern coast from being overrun by the dead. For their heroic efforts, Sansa Stark awarded their leader Seadragon Point and much of the surrounding lands, and named him the first Lord of Darkcastle.   His descendants continue to worship R'hllor to this day, and while this tends to put them at odds with their neighbors they usually keep to themselves and avoid letting their foreign religion cause problems. Instead they quietly develop their land and train their troops, ever ready to raise their blades again should their liege or the Lord of Light himself ever call upon them once more. In particular, Robert Mormont showed a great interest in protecting their right to worship and fostering unity among the three religions' followers, which earned their trust and ultimately their loyalty later on.

Ancestral Weapons

House Darksky maintains ownership of two ancestral weapons that hold religious and historical significance to the family. While still a native citizen of Qohor over a century ago the founder of the house was granted the Blacksteel sword now known as "Dark" by a Qohori Smith after the smith "received a vision from the Heart of Fire" that told him to make the blade and give it to the young man. Later in his life, when Sansa Stark was rewarding his efforts during the Long Night, she ordered the creation of a new parrying dagger made of Castle-Forged Steel to replace one that was destroyed in the fighting. The resulting dagger was said to be so beautiful to the recipient that Lord Darksky dubbed the blade "Bright" for how much it shined in contrast to Dark's nearly pitch black metal. Both weapons have been passed down from lord to heir as a pair, and they are now seen as the symbols of the rightful Lord of Darkcastle.
