The Obelisks of Ymir

Purpose / Function

The Obelisks were structures constructed by the Giants throughout the continent of Enethor, throughout and beyond their grand cities. After the empire of the Giants was toppled and its members were all but wiped out, nature slowly reclaimed their ruins. Now, the Obelisks are all that remain of their ancient glory. Dozens of feet tall, sometimes hundreds, and covered in ancient Giant runes, a language itself that few now can read. Since few can read what is scrawled upon their surface, the purpose of the obelisks are unknown to many that have uncovered them across the wilds. Some believe them to be religious texts, detailing the true creation story of the worlds as the Giants saw it. Others believe it to be proclamations of possible futures, a map of what may be to come. Some even believe them to be grave sites, scrawled with the names of Giants buried beneath the ground they stand on. Regardless as to what they are, they are a marvel to behold, and many intrepid explorers seek them out in anticipation of being the one to discover their true purpose.
