Oku Shadowblade
"Prince" Oku Shadowblade (a.k.a. Olgval)
Oku is a lively and impish son of Dezzner Shadowblade (drow) & Allie Jonder (human). Young half drow is known from his happy-go-lucky attitude, daring stunts and boundless energy, not to meantion his endless curiosity. Born with his father's family's bind to dragon blood, he has show talent in sorcery, but has lately been interested of druidic magic.
In-game, Oku has become regularly appearing character for Elflings-party, helping them out and acting as extra to bring on any journeys party may go on. He is tutored by Shade and has great respect towards Patch, and party keeps teaching him while he teaches them to ways of Silver Shore Island in his own way.
Physical Description
Body Features
Because of the mix of human and elven blood, Oku looks a little younger than he really is. He seems more like 14 than 17 years old, and his mannerisms further amplify this effect. He has pale blond curls that almost hit his shoulders, and black dragon scales cover his hands and part of his back.
Special abilities
Oku knows both sorcerer and druid magic. His magic tends to be about controlling the environment, having lots of Transmutation spells, and he seems to have a special connection to the water and ice. He is especially talented in schools of Transmutation and Conjuration.
He also likes to transform into cats. He could transform into other animals as well, but he likes cats the best.

Personal history
Oku was born in Moon Terrace, 14th of Feb, 4030. He was a bright and social child right from the get-go and had great difficulty at staying still. Ever since he could move, he was going on adventures of some kind, exploring something or inventing things to do. His parents have had their fair share of difficulty to feed his endless curiosity and keep his motivation in productive things instead of causing chaos around him.
In his early childhood, Oku was always interested in expanding his sorcery and followed his father to Silver Shore Academy of Magi, but just recently took sudden interest of druidic magic. Confused, but supportive, his parents let him explore and learn among the druids, though they were not sure why he chose to do so, especially since it seemed to stifle with his inborn magic.
Shade would agree to tutor Oku and he and Patch would manage to reveal that Oku's sudden interest (besides turning in to animals, since "that is AWESOME!") was his worry for his elven father, whom he fears would be heartbroken and lonely after he outlives his wife and children. Oku was inspiring to become a druid to extend his lifespan further so that he could live as long as his father, so he wouldn't need to be lonely.
Elflings have started to convince to Oku, that he might make his father much happier by doing best of his life instead of wasting it on something that might not even like that much in the end, and Oku has since started to open up to further learning about his talents with sorcery. He still practices druid magic too, though, and can now not only turn to multiple different cats; he can also turn in to a reef shark. Because what would be more awesome than turning in to a shark?
Intellectual Characteristics
Oku often appears as an air-head, which seems to suit him just fine. He loves to keep this image up as much as possible - after all, there is no better way to get out of all responsibility than play stupid. It makes people give you some slack, find you less intimidating, and let you do your thing. And it is precisely Oku's awareness of this that makes those older and more experienced to see the real threat and potential that is Oku Shadowblade.
The Mad ScientistDespite having a very different swagger to him, Oku is intellectually speaking most like his father from all his siblings. Those that see behind his facade have pondered if his father would have been just like him if raised in other circumstances and skipped the class about humility. It is very much Oku's love of people and the guidance of the adults around him that is preventing him from becoming a dangerous, sociopathic mad scientist.
Oku is intelligent for his age, but he often hides it behind his child-like face and demeanor. He is surprisingly good at reading people while simultaneously pretending to be clueless. He is talented at using people's expectations to his advantage, even when he does it more instinctively than deliberately. He often covers behind his happy-go-lucky attitude and the illusion of airheadedness that it gives when reality he is razor-sharp. But he knows the cold truth: people don't like smart people and slip out more secrets and are more useful when they see you as little dumb and harmless. And he abuses the hell out of it.
Oku likes people and mostly wants what is best for everyone, but he can be brutally vicious with insults and observations once you make him upset. He feels empathy but knows how to turn his off. Sometimes he enjoys just poking people up a bit to figure out what makes them tick. In the process, he might irritate them to no end without any regard for their feelings.
It's not that he doesn't get it. No, it is because he gets it, and the mad scientist in him takes control to experiment. His lovable shell can be very deceiving: Oku is dangerously able to total emotional detachment and manipulation. As cruel as he can be when he feels like it, most of the time, Oku is known for his kindness. He likes attention and genuine, warm connections. Making a friend or an ally is far more exciting for him than making an enemy or getting a rise out of people just for the heck of it. He genuinely cares about people and wants to make them feel better. He likes the warm feeling it makes him have. And pragmatically, people who love you are far more useful than people who can't stand you.
Oku is often searching for risks and experiences, sometimes through dangerous stunts or seemingly random things. This behavior might look dumb, but has more to do with intellectual boredom than lack of thought. Oku knows how smart he is, and things get very boring to him as he already knows how the game works. So he changes the rules and challenges himself to make things a little more exciting.
If there is something Oku truly loves, it's new exciting experiences. He has a hunger for life and likes to share it with the people around him. More unconventional the method, more interesting it is.
Oku loves problem-solving and interesting experiences, which makes him prone to do surprises, tricks, gags, and try different approaches to real or perceived problems. In his way, he wants to maximize the benefits of his actions, whatever benefit means to him in a given context. Because of this, his approach to things can sometimes be quite unconventional, even artistic. Or explosive. Explosive is cool. He approaches things with an open mind, even when others would already run away.
Morality & Philosophy
For Oku, life is a game. Or a puzzle box. Everyone and everything is there for one to experience, and it would be dumb if you wouldn't enjoy it. That doesn't mean that there wouldn't be dangers and things to avoid, but Oku instead flirts with danger and circles around it, trying hard to understand it, and then turn it to something productive or destroy it. Saying that he sees good on everyone or everything might sound compelling, but is a bit an overstatement. Realistically, he is more kin to his father and sees the potential in everything, and there is stark difference between "good" and "potential".
Oku is also a believer in "do something properly or don't do it at all," though his standards of "proper" wouldn't match to common standards, and he uses this philosophy not just to do things, but to weasel out of them. Once he finds something that truly inspires him, he puts his whole heart into it.
He is also a believer in equal opportunity, respect, and kindness, even if his way to show it can be unique. He believes in empathy and manages to extend it to people, which others might have already seen as undeserving. It is good to know that a good amount of Oku's empathy is intellectual instead of the emotional kind. This can be both benefit or detriment to people he deals with, as once Oku finds something objectionable, he knows how to jab on people's egos, was it subtly or in a more brutal manner.

Social
Contacts & Relations
Oku is best friends with Eler Splintwood and Malon Skylark. He has also been getting closer to Shade and Patch, even though Shade doesn't realize he's been adopted yet.
Family Ties
Oku is a son of Dezzner Shadowblade and Allie Jonder, younger brother to Zato Shadowblade and their adoptive sister Darling.
On father's side, Oku is Shynt'vyrae Shadowblade's grandson, nephew to Wae'Dirzidil Shadowblade, Chess'Molafay Shadowblade and Nadataraxle Shadowblade. As his grandmother hasn't disowned her son or recognized his marriage, Oku is counted part of the house, and as such, can be called as a "Prince" like his father.
On mother's side, Oku has an uncle Ronnie Jonder, and cousin of Maris Jonder. He would also count as uncle for Maris' son Jara.
Religious Views
Whimsical Oku has almost childlike trust to Eilistraee and Vhaeraun, though isn't necessarily praying type. His beliefs seem more practical than devote, but that doesn't take away it's purity. He buys into idea typical for Ring of Brothers that the twin gods balance one another, and tends to cling on to one that feels appropriate on any given time.
Social Aptitude
For better or for worse, Oku is very confident of himself to the point of over-confidence and loves company. He is generally charming but can get very annoying very quickly once he gets bored. He is extroverted and visibly excitable and mostly polite unless he is feeling particularly nosey, irritated, or just happens to find poking someone entertaining at the moment.
Hobbies & Pets
While enjoying more relaxing hobbies like fishing, Oku is addicted to adrenaline and excitement. His curiosity and wild nature make him try all kinds of things, he probably shouldn't, including climbing high places and putting his nose where it doesn't belong. He loves riding with his steed, Dusk the panther. He also loves to do everything involving water. Doing daring stunts, pranks, and experiments are just what he loves to do.
