Planar Anchors

In Meridian, each plane has an anchor.
Each of these anchors can be used in magics to produce high level effects. Cast a fireball using a vial of the lava from the anchor of fire? Your spell may go up in level or your spell DC may increase. Despite its power, the source and purpose of these anchors is unknown.
The Divine Anchor, a great white tree, was found in Natdivida until the Reckoning and the Retribution. It is unclear if the Divine and Antidivine anchor have multiple parts to accommodate the 3 sections of the Divine and Antidivine planes.
The Anchors of the elemental planes are:

1. Earth: a large open agate of purple amethyst
2. Water: a section of coral reef with impossibly vibrant colors
3. Air: a field of flowers where petals continually fall and float in the air
4. Fire: a pool of magma

The other planar anchors are as follows:

1. Shadowfell: mushrooms in a dark forest
2. Feywild: mushrooms in a light forest


How these anchors work and how the magic is amplified is a current area of research at the Hemisferic School of Magics and Higher Studies.
Before the discovery of the Celestial Anchor, it was wildly believed and studied that if you had a piece of the elemental, fey, or shadow magic you cast that you would have the upgraded effect. This was of course filled with many "studies" that failed due to random sea shells not working as anchors. The discovery that the anchors were tied to certain magics was uncovered by Divination Wizard named Gramulon Hemisfer. The earnings he made through this discovery allowed him to found the Hemisferic School of Magics.
The majority of the Divine Anchor was used in two major projects by the Divine Council. The first was the creation of the city of Seraphim, the flying city above Natdivida. The second was the ritual that would be known as the Reckoning and the Retribution. This usage does not seem to be healing, and it appears as if the Divine Anchor has been completely used up.
