Rez Isle

Not much is known about Rez Isle, being located on a remote island in Eastern Dezaria. Many rumours and strange stories regarding the island and its folk float across the Republic, and is colloquially used as a slur to say that one's family is from there. Its inhabitants are said to be uninviting and visitors do not tend to stay long.   Although it is officially part of the Republic of Dezaria, it is so remote that not even Contribution Collectors visit it.   The island can be reached by boat, or by foot for a two days a month, when the night is darkest with Lanar and the Prophets noweher in sight, bringing the lowest tides of the month, as a causeway reaches across from the mainland.   Rez Isle is dominated by an impressive yet nameless mountain with sheer cliff faces, but its base is shrouded by a seemingly endless fog. No one has claimed to have climbed the mountain, let alone reach its peak.   To its south lies the Lake of the Forgotten, where by its shore sits the small settlement of Rezmouth.

Rezmouth

Although inhabitants can be found scattered across the island, the township is where most of the people live. Rezmouth sits by the Lake of the Forgotten, which is a considerable body of water, unknowingly deep. The fog envelops the base of the mountain on the otherside, but it often extends to the town itself, which leaves it damp and dreary.   The town is sustained by the freshwater from the lake and food is grown and shared by all, under the guidance of the local church. The people of Rezmouth form a fellowship and are very religious.   Currency holds little worth on the island as goods are generally shared or bartered between locals, though this does not extend to those outside the fellowship.   The largest building in Rezmouth is the Church of Perpetuity, the only structure not made from timber. It stands by the shore, overlooking the town and the peal of its bell rings across the town and the lake.   Father Raab, a male Tiefling, is both the village leader and the head of the local congregation.

The Trench

Near the Forgotten Lake runs a dry trench, considerably deep and a few miles long. Some of the Rezmouthers can be seen digging the trench, which seemingly will snake its way to the ocean eventually. The Rezmouthers see this as a healthy toil and a type of workship.

The Nameless Mountain

Despite its size, the largest mountain on the island does not have a formal name. The locals refer it to simply "the mountain", and generally do not like to talk about it. The base of the mountain is appears to be constantly shrouded by a dense fog coming from Rez's only lake, but after a few hundred feet upwards it bursts free of the fog and towers across the island.   Its sheer cliff faces seem nearly impossible to climb and no one has claimed to have even attempted this.   A Dezarian cartographer once remarked that, considering usual geography patterns, it was strange how the island had a mountain of such size. He declared it an interesting anomaly, perhaps as an effect of the magic millenia ago.
