The First Solution of Integration

Known to dwarves as "Frygtelig Forfølgelse" - the Great Persecution, this period of history is where the Republic of Dezaria undertook both brute force politics and even military action against dwarves, who despite the formation of Dezaria, had little interest in the dealings of other races. Dezaria sought to consolidate all of its interior lands under their rule, and this included the small and scattered kingdoms of dwarves.
Outnumbered, all of the known dwarven kingdoms eventually fell with exception of Hyemsfrey, which thanks to its floating city was difficult to battle against even with support from wizards and sorcerers. To this day, the Republic and Hyemsfrey are technically still at war, though the last open conflict occured shortly after the Mending in 4250 AC, when Hyemsfrey became stranded, but ultimately held off attacks.
Dwarves have since mostly been integrated within Dezarian community, with a mix of feelings coming from the betrayal of the State. Whilst some plot the return of their ancestral lands, others have taken what advantage they can of what the Republic offers.
During the period between 17th to 19th of Silvanus is the Ode to Frygtelig Forfølgelse, where traditional dwarves take time to remember the persecution of their kind.
