Scarlet March

The Festival of the Scarlet March is a magnificent week-long celebration taking place yearly in the middle of summer in Ermichaend, the 7th month of the year between the dates 15th to 21st, with their actual journey from the Scarlet Legion's training grounds of the Institute of Lysandus in Vectulheld to the grand city of Virtuous becoming a vibrant and transformative experience for the initiates of the Scarlet Legion. As the Legion embarks on this sacred march, the road becomes alive with festivities, allowing the initiates to learn the virtues of patience and endurance through this arduous yet rewarding pilgrimage. Throughout the journey, the initiates are immersed in a whirlwind of cultural displays and heartfelt tributes offered by the common folk they pass. Villages and towns along the road come alive with colourful decorations, banners, art, and bountiful feasts prepared in honour of the Scarlet Legion's passage. The initiates march in unison, guided by seasoned Legionnaires who impart the wisdom of discipline and camaraderie, instilling in them the value of unity and strength in adversity. The initiates are not to enjoy the feasts until their arrival at virtuous, as a test of their own strength and for the guarantee of no later challenge in life is harder than this march.
As the initiates continue their trek, they are welcomed with joyous songs, dances, and mesmerizing performances. The townspeople eagerly present heartfelt tributes to the soldiers which appear as artisan creations and art, offering personal items as tokens of admiration and gratitude. These tributes become cherished possessions of the initiates, symbolizing the strong connection they forge with the people they have vowed to protect.
The journey serves as a rite of passage for the initiates, fostering resilience as they face the physical and emotional challenges of the road. They learn to rely on each other, forming deep bonds with their fellow soldiers, and experiencing firsthand the unwavering support of the common folk who rally behind them.

Upon reaching the grand city of Virtuous, the initiates are met with a triumphant welcome. Their transformation from novices to seasoned soldiers is celebrated with grand ceremonies and rituals conducted by the priests of The Totems. They receive blessings for their future endeavors and are bestowed with a ceremonial badge, symbolizing their entry into the esteemed ranks of the Scarlet Legion. And this is the first time they are granted permission to feast during this festival, a welcome reward for all who made the rapid and intensive march.
As the week-long festival comes to a close, the initiates return are given their new positions and begin their work as soldiers of their home land.
