Vulung Dugsa

The stretch of land dividing the country of Berulia in two. It is a land of great hills, deep pits of mud, earth covering ancient weaponry and undiscovered soldiers of war. It initially was changed by the War of Broken Vows, but it was the wars after that that made this landmark remain permanent. Its name in the local tongue translates to "Mud Bog".   After the land became deemed unsafe to traverse, three bridges were built initially across it, leaving the rest of its land most uninhabited except for the few occasional lining ventures sent within. This has left the land to be claimed by bandits who occasionally prey on the travellers crossing the bridge by either making them pay a toll or relinquishing some of their goods. This led to the middle bridge being destroyed during a shipment of gunpowder and explosives got caught in a crossfire. This left the pits to be the refuge of the poor and misfits.

Geography

In the vast expanse of this land, stretching from the western sea to the eastern mountain range, lies a sprawling terrain that spans several kilometres. Rising above the surrounding earth are elevated hills that enclose basins of mud within their borders. These hills, barely concealing remnants of the past, are adorned with layers of bricks and logs, remnants of old war trenches. Among these undulating hills, scattered throughout, are brine-filled lakes.

Ecosystem

In these saline waters, only the most resilient of reeds find their footing, thriving amidst the challenging conditions. The high salt concentration renders the lakes nearly inhospitable, creating a unique habitat exclusively for a distinctive species of mud crab and insects.   These reeds provide resources for the mud crabs to create borrow nests within the pools.   The reeds themselves providing shelter and warmth for the insects during horrible cold weather conditions.

Natural Resources

Deep within the mud pits, there are many preserved Mana Kidneys that can be harvested to turn into medicines. Along this there are also tons of the kidneys which under compression have formed the Mana Crystal which can be harvested through mining.
