Bryn Shander

Bryn Shander is the biggest city of the Ten-Towns and is known for being a trading centre in Icewind Dale. It is the gateway to its fellow towns of the dale, as well as their lifeline to the rest of civilization to the south.

The city is surrounded by a huge wooden palisade and is well-guarded, thanks to its three gates that serve as the only exit points towards the north, the south and the east. The gates are only closed in times of warfare or when there is inner turmoil inside the city, such as when a murder happened.
Like all of the towns of the Ten-Towns region, a monthly draw is made every New Moon in order to sacrifice someone to the Frostmaiden and save the inhabitants from Her wrath.
