Feargál Ó Rodagh (Fear-gaul O-Row-dah)

Played by: An Dagda

Feargál Ó Rodagh, Dr. (a.k.a. Wolfgang)

Feargál is a Malkavian psychologist and occult researcher. Among the supernatural community, his persona is that of Dr. Wolfgang, a Kindred therapist. He is also the adoptive Sire for Leon, attempting to teach the younger Vampire independence as well as helping resolve Leon's past trauma. The two were well-known figures in Baltimore City, where Feargál pioneered an attempt at Universal Healthcare in the city, but it did not last long before the city's fall. Leon and his adoptive Sire fled the city by sea right before destruction swept across the city, travelling down the coast until arriving in Baltimore. What brought the enigmatic Malkavian to this city of all places, is yet to be determined.     Feargál's public identity is that of Dr. Wilhelm Friedrich. He offers therapy services to students and staff at the University of Miami, as well as teaches there in the medical faculty. He also occasionally gives forensic psychology and medical services to the Miami police service, using his role there as a access point to internal communications.   Among Kindred, Feargál provides therapy services free of charge. He is very particular about ensuring the privacy of his patients, and is dedicated to following the principles of the Hippocratic Oath. Kindred are distrustful of others, and are loath to reveal their most private, personal and traumatic moments. Feargál seems to understand this, and to date, has never revealed or used in bad faith anything that was revealed to him in confidence. Feargál also serves as an Ashen Knight for the Road of Humanity and its associated paths: Breath, Community, Vigor and Illumination. The Malkavian is highly dedicated to helping Kindred reject the clutches of the Beast, and hold to a higher purpose. As such, he offers any and all Kindred a respite from their past and the harshness of the night. Usually, this is intertwined with his therapy services, but not necessarily.   Outside of his work as the local Kindred psychiatrist, Feargál has a fascination with the occult, rarely revealed to others. He has had the opportunity to travel to other realms of the cosmos, or Astral Realms as well as the Underworld, and he rarely comes back unchanged. Supposedly that is how he lost his eye, but he has come back with far more than meets the eye.   Most recently, Feargál adopted the Thinblood Caitiff Ethan Ambrose. The Ancilla Malkavian has taken a strange fascination with the Caitiff, much to the jealousy of the Malkavian's already adopted Childe, Leon. Though, perhaps this fascination is not so strange in the light of the thinblood's story.     Privately, Feargál's ghoul Franziska owns a company called the Triquesta. This company owns several smaller international companies, supplying a variety of goods and services across the globe. Most recently they have set up in Miami, serving as a means to further Feargál's work through a strong mortal base. With his mortal connections, supernatural affiliates and extensive occult knowledge, Feargál lays claim to an extensive information network, extending across Maryland, all the way to Washington D.C. and the Pentagon. Among some, he is known as the Spymaster - An usual and concerning title to be given to the local psychiatrist. Their distrust is understandable.

Personal history

Feargal was born in Ireland to two middle-class Irish parents. He studied biology in Ireland and Great Britain, but ended up travelling Europe as a travelling scientist and doctor. Eventually, he settled in Germany for a while, studying the fledgling field of psychology and neuroscience. During one of his travels for scientific research, he met a fascinating woman who called herself Evren. The two exchanged extensive notes about the nature of science, knowledge and the occult, before Feargal was offered the embrace, which he accepted. Since then, he has remained a travelling kindred therapist, doctor and occult researcher, interested in the nature of Vampiric nature and their enlightenment.

History

Feargal adopted Leon from Leon's Sire, Corneliu, at the request from a mutual associate called Luke. Since then, Feargal and Leon have travelled together across North America. Feargal works to bring Leon's education level up to a minimum to survive independently from his eventual release from accounting. However, Leon has imprinted hard upon Feargal, intensely jealous and possessive of his adoptive Sire, who he considers something less of a Sire, and more as a father. Meanwhile, Feargal remains privately, distant from Leon - Afraid of the emotional pain of getting overly attached to Leon beyond a professional teacher-student relationship. This difference in outlook has already been a point of contention between the two, and is bound to be again.

Nicknames & Petnames

Leon has taken to calling Feargal "Dad" and "Father" for his place as an adoptive parent of sorts.

History

Feargál took a quick and intense interest in Ethan upon discovering the Caitiff's nature in Baltimore. The Caitiff rebuked the Ancilla and his attempts to offer the neonate mentorship and protection. Ethan's reckless touring of Baltimore led to his kidnapping and blood-bond enforced subservience to the Setite Primogen Andrew Leakey, much to the distress of Feargál. After the destruction of Baltimore, Ethan was carried to Baltimore by Beau Danislav aka "Seeker". After reuniting a couple of weeks later, Feargál once again offered mentorship to the Caitiff, which was this time, accepted.

History

Feargál is the therapist for the reformative Corinthia Banner. Previously, Feargál served as Corinthia's Whip for her domain in Baltimore, a position resented by the Malkavian. Feargál never approved of Corinthia's choice of beliefs before. Now in Miami, the humbled Corinthia and Feargál have agreed to a new start.
