Varldstan Realms of Alézun'Teran
As you look over some few dozen books that have been left alone on a stone table, possibly by another Visitor, your gaze falls upon a relatively thick, leather-bound tome that is placed a bit aside from the others.
You pick it up slowly. It is as heavy as you thought it was, and it is cold to the touch. Simply holding it, makes you feel like someone or something is eyeing you from a distance.A symbol is pressed unto the cover: A diamond-shaped crystal within an almond-shaped circle, with what appears to be tree roots extending outward from it like the spokes on a wheel. It has a key-latch on the side of it that is cool to the touch. As your fingers move across it, it suddenly opens up.
The pages within feel as if the entire book has been left alone in the snow a cold winter night and beautiful frost patterns are noticeable on their edges. The text and illustrations are written with a beautiful and ocean-flowing script, whose words are imbued into your mind with slight feminine vocals.
General
This Codex was a collaborated effort by the Union of the Archive Association. It was published by Enlightenment Publications in a limited number of copies and is valued highly, particularly among scholars and literary collectors.
History
The work on this Codex is said to have begun slowly at the time when the Sacred Arts of Alézun'Teran was halfway to completion. It took between two and five centuries to gather all the necessary information needed for a well-researched literary work such as this, though some argue that it must have taken longer.
Information regarding everything from straight-up rumors to myths and folktales, to absolute truths, was collected and sorted out regarding both well-known and unknown Varldstan, with Varldstan Concord as the centerpiece.
The Union of the Faceless Constants are said to have played a relatively big role in this endeavor, due to the reputation of the Absenté Varldstan they are connected to.
After publication, the original was placed in the Great Archive and subsequently made accessible to all Visitors.
