Knytt
Homebrew
Knytt (Subrace of Gnome) Description: Knytt are small, nearly invisible in their unassuming nature, and very shy creatures. They are the smallest of all gnomes, even shorter than halflings, kobolds, and goblins. Knytt have a natural ability to blend into their surroundings and are often so quiet that they go unnoticed. Their clothing is usually made from natural materials, and they tend to move in groups, but each knytt is individual and can be both brave and resourceful when needed. Physical Traits: Height: 1.5-2 feet Weight: 10-20 pounds Appearance: Knytt have large, expressive eyes, pointed ears, and triangular noses. Shadow Sneak: You can use your bonus action to hide even when you have only light cover or are in dim light. Silent Movement: You have advantage on Dexterity (Stealth) checks when you move slowly (half your movement speed). Nimble Footed: You can pass through areas with dense vegetation and rough terrain without extra movement cost. You can also pass through a space large enough for a creature of your size without extra movement cost. Forest Dweller: You are proficient in the Common and Sylvan languages. Their homes are almost invisible to outsiders, hidden among trees, stone piles, and other natural formations. Knytt derive from forest gnomes who settled in a valley on the continent of Aneara thousands of years ago. They became trapped in the valley after a collapse in the Underdark below, and have been isolated there with a unique ecosystem for generations, and they only came in contact with the surface world a few hundred years ago.
Knytt are incredibly honest and very curious creatures, but they can also be overwhelmed and afraid of the large world outside of their valley. They are very loyal and would never betray someone they see as a friend, even if they're scared.
Knytt are by far the smallest of the gnome subraces, standing only about 2-3 feet tall. They have a slightly unique appearance with large, triangular noses and very wildgrown hair. The language they speak in their valley is an extreme accent of the local language of the rest of the continent, and if all parts speak slowly and clearly they are just barely able to understand one another.
