Vultaum Syndrome

Vultaum Syndrome is a mental disorder characterised by a persistent belief that the universe is a simulation, melancholy, depression, and suicidal tendencies. The term comes from findings released by Voor archaeologists who discovered Vultamar, homeworld of the Vultaum Star Assembly that existed approximately 12 million years ago. The Vultaum believed that the universe was a simulation, and the only way to 'unplug' was through mass collective suicide. Persistent conspiracy theories that came into being after the Voor government classified further research into the Vultaum have served to increase the prevalence of Vultaum Syndrome.

Studies have shown that there appears to be a correlation between societal spirituality and incidences of Vultaum Syndrome. It is most prevalent within the Voor Technocracy, and least prevalent within the Kingdom of Yondarim and other spiritualist societies. The Syndrome is treatable via traditional therapy methods in a similar manner to other mental disorders.
