Prel

Prel are a bipedal mammalian race from the world of the same name. They are very pale with dark, straight hair.

The Prel have recently ended a long and bloody war with a neighboring species called the Solindrou.

Basic Information

Anatomy

The Prel body consists of two legs, the torso, two arms, a neck, and the head. They stand erect and have a vertical symmetry where their left side closely matches their right. They have an internal skeletal structure with musculature that connects directly to the bones.

Genetics and Reproduction

Prel have two distinct sexes, a male and female. Which is common in the universe for mammalian type species in the universe. The male impregnates the female, who carries the fetus until birth.

Ecology and Habitats

The native world of the Prel is a planet with a thick atmosphere and near complete cloud cover. Because of this, they have evolved a strong respiratory system and almost no pigment in their skin.

Naming Traditions

Prel family names tend to be short, only four letters long. This is an ancient tradition which is difficult to maintain as the population grows. Families that still have a four character surname will sometimes brag about having an "ancient lineage" while in fact there is no evidence of the age of a particular family based on the length of the surname.

Body Tint, Colouring and Marking

Prel have evolved with very little pigmentation in their skin due to the lack of direct sunlight. In effect all Prel have a very pale and milky skin tone. Conversely, Prel tend to have straight, dark hair that grows from their head and groin. They are hairless otherwise.
