Introducing the world of Mining Team 47

Players are members of a mining team, working in/for the underground city of Shaf Threen ). The city is a dwarven culture, with gnome elements and few other species (i.e. by discussion with DM).

The city is led by the Kommisarium , a council of leaders who ensure its health and prosperity.

The city has no contact with the surface world (if there even is one - no-one think there is) and is largely self sufficient. Limited trade with two other similar underground cities  ( ) provide everything that is needed for the denizens of Shaf-Threen. Life is comfortable, if focussed on work and duties, everyone having a useful role to fulfil in maintaining their home.

Mining teams are front-line, skilled workers, bringing together the many talents necessary to excavate and extract the riches of the Deep. They used to be smaller, temporary groupings, but as teams now work at quite a distance (1-2 days travel) from the city, they have to be self sufficient and able to work independently of other teams for a number of days.
