October Recap

Another month is already gone and I decided to do a little recap of what has happened. I will try to write those every month now, so let's see if I will really take the time to do so.   First things first: I think I finished three articles this month. I'm writing "I think", because I didn't really track it and now I can't remember anymore.   First one was for Tyrdal's Longest Journey Challenge. This one is about the Crimson Bay. Which is a location as well as an organisation. I primarily wrote about the location, a pirate town situated around a bay with crimson red water. Why is the water red? Check out the article and find out yourself:

Second one was also for Tyrdal's Longest Journey Challenge, but part two. Topic was a dangerous place in my world and I wanted it to fit with the pirate / seafarer vibe from part one. So I thought about what dangerous places we have in our oceans and came up with the Dead Man's Depths. A life threatening area of the ocean, supposedly hunted by a long deceased pirate captain. Learn more about the myth and truth in the article:

And please don't think of me as a Tyrdal fan girl, but the third article was as well for one of his challenges, the Flash Fire Challenge. As the topic here was "fire" I choose my fire magic. Something I had to write anyway, although I wanted to save it for World Ember. But god was I glade I didn't. As it turned out, I wasn't able to solve some problems with the flip cards I used and therefore had to use pictures for them. And those obviously don't count for the word count of WE, so I would have had a lot of work without a proper result for this special event. You can have a look at what exactly I mean here:

Furthermore, I started to write an introduction article for one of my categories, the Atlas. And this one wasn't even for a challenge, can you imagine?! Although it isn't ready, because the geography of Mirintha is not finished, it is a good start. And a nice blueprint for the other section. I really hope it helps my readers to find their way through my articles, especially as there will come more and more (hopefully). I will share a sneak peak of the unfinished version with you:

So, what's next you may ask. Well, besides part three of the longest journey I want to use November to get things in order. Transfer old articles into the current CSS and layout, coming up with ideas for new articles during WE, hopefully work on the world map of Mirintha, updating the TOC and maybe writing the other category overview articles for the remaining categories. And if I still have some time left, I might even write an entry for the Grand Celebrations Challenge, hosted by Make lore, not war & CoolG.   So stay tuned for what's to come next and hopefully a recap at the end of November / beginning of December!

Glad to see your work all in one place and thanks for taking part in all of my challenges - really happy you enjoyed them! I'm already looking forward to the next recap and wish you all the best for the next months.

Sit down, my friend, and let me tell you of Aran'sha . A world where the sands shift and the stars sing, where the wind carries secrets and the twin moons keep silent vigil over it all.
