Ilasur Tsen Usoreja

Overview

Ilasur Tzen Usoreja, The First Ilasur (King) of Anasurae (Anosfae) is credited with constructing and transforming a great number of things, such as upper and lower-class clothes, weaponry, palaces, and homes. Most significantly, though, was the Ehuraei (Wellness Land Act), which divided the farms of Anosfae into the Orsede (private) and Unima (public) sectors, ensuring that the entire population could be fed on the available land. While all fields were held by the government or the aristocracy, the private fields were only handled by farmers, and the produce was solely theirs. The produce of public fields went to the government for famines or the aristocracy, who in turn could pay tribute to the king.

Cult of Usoreja

Usoreja was portrayed as the founder of the centralized state, a holy ruler, a patron of esoteric arts, and as a powerful warrior who was capable of harnessing all kinds of magic. His cult rose to prominence during the Early Warring City-States period and the early Akhamne dynasty. Usoreja served as a symbol for Anesarii attempts to overthrow Soranni power during the early years of the Ilsairi Ketsing dai Irasterrai Soranna (Empire of Soranna), which they viewed as foreign because its rulers were of a different language and culture.

Family and Heritage

Usoreja's father was Orshu Iyscah, a military commander of Anesarii descent who commanded an army in Iysarne (Istranna). Deshi (Lady) Shjura, Usoreja's mother, came from a well-known family in Iysarne (Istranna) and was of Ingharan descent. Her father was an Ingharan Surhui (commander) in the Army of Iysarne, in charge of a force of a thousand soldiers. Usoreja's sister, Akkahi, with whom he had a strained connection because she spent much of her time with her mother.

Birth and Early Life

Ilasur Tsen Usoreja kor Iysarni came into this world on the 5th of Nidosel in 941 VKA, a vivacious and unique infant with a crooked pupil that resembled a serpent. He was born into a family of magical lineage, and his aptitude for magic was evident from a young age. At the tender age of five, he created his first lightning bolt, a brilliant blue that had never been seen before, a testament to his exceptional magical ability. Usoreja spent most of his childhood years with his father's family, who were more focused on military training and Niedene magic. It was in this environment that he learned the importance of discipline and respect, traits that he embodied throughout his life. At the age of six, he was given his first sword and sent to study Niedene magic and take command of an army, a challenge that he welcomed with enthusiasm. Despite his father's family's rigorous training, Usoreja remained a bold and outspoken boy, never afraid to voice his beliefs. He had a strained relationship with his mother, who did not raise him but found solace in his father and his family. It was during this time that he formed a close bond with Ihshi, a royal concubine's daughter, with whom he frequently stargazed from the top of the tallest hills. Their relationship was not well received by Usoreja's mother, but it did not stop them from traveling together to the Dwarven holdings of Isdorao during their extensive travels to the north. The dwarves were initially wary of visitors, but they allowed Usoreja and Ihshi to enter their majestic halls, where they received two of their finest items, the Israj and Esre daggers. These daggers were enchanted with sophisticated spells and bore Ingharan runes that read, "It is only through one another that harmony can be found." The gift of these daggers would prove invaluable to Usoreja in the years to come. Upon his return, his life was forever altered when his father left him and his sister to fight in a war. He spent most of his time practicing various philosophies and arts, including battle, writing, art, poetry, and the arcane arts, as he had no one else to turn to for solace. His father's absence left a profound impact on him, and he missed him dearly, often wondering where he was and what he was up to. Despite this hardship, Usoreja remained steadfast and continued to hone his skills, becoming a skilled warrior and a respected member of his community. Upon pondering his father's disappearance, a sense of purpose filled him. He felt an overwhelming desire to find his father, no matter what it took. In order to start his mission, he sought out the advice of his wise grandfather. He hoped to gain some insight on how to locate any military personnel stationed in Iysarne who could possess valuable information about his father's whereabouts. The young man was determined to leave no stone unturned in his search for his beloved father. With unwavering focus and persistence, he scoured every possible location, but unfortunately, none of his efforts yielded concrete leads. However, after questioning a few soldiers who claimed to have seen his father a few months ago, he was finally able to uncover a trail. In a daring move, he enlisted the help of Ihshi, and together, they snuck into the leader's office. To their surprise, they stumbled upon a cache of letters detailing the assassination of top officials, signed by the leader of Iysarne. Usoreja scanned through the names, hoping to find any mention of his father. And finally, after what felt like an eternity, his eyes fell upon his father's name, which remained unscratched. This discovery provided Usoreja with a renewed sense of hope and purpose, which further fueled his relentless pursuit of the truth. He knew that he had to bring this information to his grandfather, Arunzin. Together, they planned to find his father and discovered that the letter had a destination for prisoners and executions. The journey to find his father was not an easy one. They embarked on a treacherous journey through the grand tunnels, built by the advanced Ingharans, and all they could see and hear was the light from their torches and the sounds of rats. Usoreja's spirit remained unwavering, and he was determined to bring his father home. With his best men by his side, they encountered many obstacles along the way, but they never lost sight of their goal. Usoreja bravely faced bandits and guards in the tunnels, wielding their swords and magic with skill and determination. Though the battle was tough, they emerged victorious over the bandits. Usoreja and his companions heard the screams of the prisoners as they journeyed toward the prison. He feared his father might be among them but remained determined to rescue him at any cost. Upon arriving, they quickly disarmed and knocked out the guards before searching every cell. Sadly, they found his father too late, and Usoreja wept bitterly. However, his grandfather reminded him that it was not the time to mourn; they needed to find out who was responsible for this heinous act. Usoreja started to become more hateful of his adversaries and those who dared to defy him as a result, and he also started to become more aggressive with his magic. He intended to travel home with his grandfather after this incident, but instead, they were ambushed and taken prisoner. He begged his mother and the Gesa of Iysarne not to kill Ihshi but to kill him instead, but they gagged him and forced him to witness his grandfather and the love of his life's beheading.

Rise to Power

It was a tragic scene that Usoreja witnessed, the lifeless head of his beloved Ihshi and his wise grandfather, Arunzin who had taught him the art of fighting with both words and sword. But amidst the pain and anguish, he found solace in the memory of his father. It was his father who had instilled in him the values of leadership and inspiration, and had cared for and loved him unconditionally. Usoreja knew that he had to honor his father's teachings and rise above the tragedy to become the leader his people needed. Usoreja found himself plunged into the murky depths of Lake Mizhtral, bracing himself for the worst. Suddenly, he was enveloped by a serpent-like creature that coiled around his body, creating a glimmering shield. When he regained consciousness, he was face-to-face with a massive serpent that spoke in his language. "I have stood waiting for someone with a forgiving soul," the serpent said. Usoreja was amazed that such a creature existed, having only heard tales from his grandfather.
