Kalamia
Structure
The role of the Kalamian monarchy is to preserve and represent the Xylen ideal, command the military, and issue national laws. A normal person never comes in contact with the monarch, only knowing them through news and decrees. The patriarch of each family reports indirectly to the king.
Each patriarch issues his own rules for his domain, as long as they do not conflict with tradition or the king. The many laws of the king range from marriage and structure to laws that protect workers. Disobeying a law results in severe punishment or expulsion from a community.
Agriculture & Industry
A lower-middle-class country due to a combination of heavy exploitation from other countries, military losses, and abundant natural resources. There is a large lower class with a small middle and upper. Patriarchal leaders own and manage most of the land in Kalmalia. Those that live on the land work for the leader in exchange for housing and money. The patriarch sells the farmed goods to other groups or overseas, giving a portion of the goods and profit to the royal family.
