Viela
The Viela are a mysterious people. They wear extravagant masks and cloaks, and nothing is revealed except for the glimmer of serpentine eyes. The Kadosh speaks of a time when the Viela were beautiful and ethereal, with skin in varying shades of blue and glowing patterns, long ears, and angular bone structures. This creature cannot be found in Runnoth today, and instead, the viela are known for their reptilian features: scaled and dull skin, slitted pupils, flattened faces, kinetic jaw joints, long fangs, no exterior ears, and fringes.

Ecology and Habitats
Despite their reptilian appearance Vielans are mesothermic mammals. They prefer colder and more isolated environments and have particular hunting habits. Since the ground is almost always colder than their prey, a Vielan's thermal detection can easily find a target in the cold. Viela also have concurrent heat exchange in their extremities, allowing them to keep warmer core temperatures.
Dietary Needs and Habits
Viela are carnivorous, their diet mostly consisting of mountain goat and fish. When hunting Vielans use a combination of their senses, especially their thermal detection, to find their prey. They cannot chew their food, instead, they swallow large chunks whole.

Perception and Sensory Capabilities
Viela are the most magically inclined race, with a high probability of possessing some semblance of the gift. While their eyesight is of the same quality as a human, Viela have pit organs that allow them to detect infrared radiation up to 15 feet away. A Vielan's fringe acts as a basic outer ear, allowing them to hear airborne vibrations. Viela can more clearly hear if they can feel vibrations, making them a very tactile race.
