General Summary

1490 DR - Winter - 23, Hammer (1) - Thay, The Doomvault

• The crew continues their assault on the Temples of extraction, understanding now the divine essence of these chosen is being siphoned into more power for the lich lord.
• After battling the necromancer, he escapes and leaves the party in shambles after a terrible fight.
• They finish a long rest and return to the temples, but are ambushed by everyone left in the Temples, flesh golems, wraiths, shadows, and Red Wizards. This fight almost goes poorly, but a last minute charge from Yasen puts him next to their leader, and the red wizard is murdered.
• The crew takes a minute to recover and then heads into the remaining extraction rooms. In the dark room Oudman murders a drow. In the final room, another drow is released and they try to interrogate him, but he commits suicide by acid arrow before they can, screaming about his failure.
• Huden explores the memories of the the Red Wizards soul he captured, discovering that the black gates can be disrupted to enable travel to the Phylactery Vault.
• The Chosen begin disrupting the black gates in the Temple area, and decide to disrupt further the ones in the Forest of Slaughter they had previously cleared.
• When returning the the forest though they encounter some familiar monsters in the Bhargest, and the Behir, who seem to be possessed and attack.
• Yasen is swallowed, Xifor is blasted with lightning, Lucyan transforms a healed Xifor into a giant ape to distract the behir.  They slay the Bhargest before it escapes.
• The Chosen fight strategically and survive, but realize that this area is likely far more dangerous, as something seems to have taken control of all the creatures that were previously docile.
