Myth of the Blue eyed owl
Summary
Mira froze at the spot, she didn't know what she was seeing. Two large blue eyes, staring at her. The creature looked wise and dangerous. She had seen owls before, but those were small creatures. But this animal was a high as she was. She slowly started to move, and the owl followed her with its bright blue eyes. She stepped back and the owl took a step forward. The feathers didn't give it away in the snowy landscape. She was afraid to turn around and to run away. Mira knew that she was stupid for traveling at night, with all those monsters roaming into the night. But she had enjoyed this guy's company a bit too much. She shivered and took back another step. The owl did another step forward, and still looked at her. It didn't make any sound, it didn't make any other movements. Which made it even creeper. What was it doing? Was it deciding if she was eatable or not. Was it curious about her, because no one else dared to travel at this hour. All those questions rushed through her mind, but on the other hand, she didn't want to know. Because one of those answers meant that she would die.
It started snowing again, the small unique flakes made their way to the ground. Mira took another step back. This time the owl didn't move with her, not sure what that meant. But she heard something moving behind her. The owl shot forward and went past her. Mira didn't think twice, and started to run towards home.
Historical Basis
After Mira Scpegot reported the first encounter with this large owl, there were other reports saying the exact same thing. But this owl is never spotted by the larger public. So soon it was believed that the reporters made the animal up.
There was never suspicion of malicious intent, it is simply believed that the reports saw something. But was a different type of animal. Mira Scpegot never stopped saying that she had seen the large owl with its large blue eyes.

After the first few reports, the news about the new type of animal spread like wildfire. There was no person inside Mirror World who had not heard about the creature. But after those reports it became silent. This strengthen the belief that animal was made up.

This painting was made with the small description that Mira Scpegot gave. The artist founded fascinating, and started to work on it. Although this was the first painting ever made of the animal, there were others made. With different colored feathers, or even different heights. But the one thing that never changed is the eye color.
