Funerary and Memorial customs

When a vampire dies one of the parents, siblings, or close friends will take their body to the surface world, and burn them to ash in a fire during midday. The remaining ash is taken back down to be spread around area they lived in.

Different areas in the clan have different beauty standards, but the general consensus is that vampires with larger antenna and a puffy coat of fur are more attractive, as well as darker skin tones and more chubby body types.

Although there isn't particularly anything expected from any gender, men and many non-binary genders more idealise fluffy and voluminous hair.

Courtship Ideals

During courtship season, those looking for a partner will have their eyes glow, which lures potential partners. They're known to have rapid dating sessions with one or more people doing a variety of things to get to know each other. For partners who are looking to mate, they go through a similar process but also release pheremones, and only end up with partners who they connect with (a complicated feeling that's only really shown through their eyes changing colour), and only stay with him for the rest of their life for the purpose of mating. It's not uncommon to see one vampire with multiple romantic partners, even if they have a sexual partner.
