Kingdom of Aakazh

The Kingdom was created by the warrior race of dragonborn that sought to settle the desert known as the Scorched Fields, on the eastern continent of Yoth.    The cultural history of the Kingdom means that its people place a high value on strength and cunning above all else, often using a long-favoured phrase: "Might Makes Right".

Structure

The Kingdom is always ruled by the strongest warrior, who takes on the title of the Caliph. The reigning Caliph can be challenged at any time, in any place, to a duel by one who seeks to take the title for themself.   The "nobility" is determined in a similar manner. The head of a city, territory, or town is called an Emir, and any who defeats him/her in combat usurps the title and the lands they rule over.   Due to the nature of the ruling class, the Caliph and his Emirs are not always dragonborn. There have been Caliph of nearly every race and gender, and their rise to power has never been contested no matter how new the individual is to the Kingdom.

Territories

Though it shares the land with the roaming tiefling clans, the Kingdom of Aakazh claims to own the entirety of the Scorched Fields. The tieflings are "allowed" to live on the dragonborn lands, provided they do not cause undue mischief.

Religion

Any individual is permitted to worship any god in Aakazh, though the majority of dragonborn there devote themselves to Arasil and his Chosen.
