Looted Mounds
The infamous looted burial mounds, located in the northern portion of the Barony of Ithiko.
They date back to over 1,000 years ago and are attributed to the burial sites of kings, nobles, and great warriors from various minor Jarinese Kingdoms. These kingdoms were closely related to the modern tribal Kubora Barbarians.
Between 560 and 579TR, during Theocracy of Tekhos, they were looted and torn apart by Morgathian Priests, searching for mundane and magical treasures as well as a source of well preserved human remains. It is whispered that all of the bodies found have been animated and still guard the Crypts of the Shrine of Aekluhaya(landmark:c0404b14-479c-4eae-a063-f067d2bc118e) in @[Castle Ithiko. Other stories report that the Morgathians were searching for an ancient artifact, whether they found it, is known only to these evil priests.
Geography
The mounds are a bleak wasteland filled with almost one hundred burial mounds, each has some sign of desecration. Most have trenches dug through them or other signs of excavations. Some of the mounds have small stones placed into bizarre shapes and symbols. These may or may not have powerful curses or other magical effects, usually prepared by the Priests of Morgath or other dark forces.
Fauna & Flora
The vegetation around the mound is bleak, consisting of twisted trees, thorny bushes, and sturdy, tangled weeds.
The very few animals live among the mound, the occasional giant vermin, insects and colonies of huge pale bats.
Terrifyingly it said the mounds ate haunted by the undead, a legacy of the Morgathic occupation over a century ago. Gangs of flesh-eating ghouls, night-dwelling ghosts, bloodsucking spirits, and the occasional visits from the Priests of Morgath who find the place holy.
Natural Resources
Herbalists who are brave enough to search the Mounds will find abundant ingredients for poisons, narcotics, and rare natural potions.
