Maermalites
The Maermalites or "Bullman" is a covert congregation of the Church of Peoni who specializes in treating administrating healing, aid, comfort, and spiritual guidance to the poor and downtrodden in the Evil Kingdoms where worship of the is proscribed.
Most Bullmen are found traveling from village to village, throughout the Kingdom of Rethem, although a few have made an appearance in the Kingdom of Orbaal in recent years.
Symbolism
The Maermalites use the Ox horns, the symbol of Maermal the Ox, a prominent figure in Peoni mythology, to identify themselves.
Public Agenda
The Maermalites secretly travel the Kingdom of Rethem carrying out the following duties;
- Healing the sick.
- Feeding the hungry.
- Blessing crops.
- Provide support to Priests of Peoni in need.
- Carry the peaceful messages of Peoni to the common folk.
History
568TR - The Maermalites were formed during the tyranny of the Theocracy of Tekhos. This brotherhood of Priests offered aid and holy salvation to the poor when all religions, other than Morgath, were declared illegal. This was a time of great suffering, and this aid has continued to this day in the Kingdom of Rethem.
