The Sons of Gashang
In 722TR, the Agrikian Fighting Order of the Cohorts of Gashang lost most of its holdings as part of the Treaty of Themeson. It was left with a surplus of men, many of which little more than common thugs but no means to support them.
The most capable warriors and devout were assigned leadership roles or guards at Order of the Eight Demons Temples. An army was formed from the rabble for use by King of Chafin III in his Civil War to unify Rethem, and a handpicked selection of 50 men formed the Mercenary company the Sons of Gashang.
The Sons are the retirement plan of the former Grandmaster of the Cohorts of Gashang, Sir Crasel Merbed. They have a lucrative 10-year contract to guard the walls, gates, and markets of the City of Coranan, something they do with ruthless efficiency. Their contract ends in 731TR.
In less than a year of their role, they have gained a reputation for brutality, corruption, and extortion. They are often in conflict with the small number of Checkered Shield soldiers in city's northern districts and have an uneasy relationship with the Red Guard. They have an excellent relationship with their former comrades at the Cohorts and appear to still follow the edicts of the Priestesses of the Order of the Eight Demons.
The Company is based out of Sir Crasel Merbed townhouse in Coranan.
