Bells and Whistles

Starting as a humble stall squished in the heart of the Market, Bells and Whistles grew into one of the most successful shops in town and opened a permanent store front in the Services and Trades Corridor. It serves all the towns bands and bards and even the hopefuls can book a spot in the music classes held in the basement.   Some go to get a treasured trumpet tuned or a triangle shined and other maintenance for long lasting instruments brought to Mythrite from their home. But the vast majority of Mythrite entertainers play a woodwind of sort and that’s where the real business is because of the “mute” wood of Mythrite trees; it’s spongy and stringing and won’t make a sound no matter how skilled the sculptor, or the wielder or how powerful their lungs. A musician in need must empty their savings or seek out loans in order to afford a tool fashioned from imported wood that’s survived the tremulous journey up river, or purchase a MatchstickTM. Made from the matchstick trees that grow far past the barracks outside the town. Appropriately named they are dry, brittle tools that snap easy and last two weeks or so with the utmost care but usually less. However the threat of trolls has driven up the price of matchstick wood and thus its instruments.
