Disposition Description
Darovit is a rather shy and quiet individual when around large groups of people and is generally more comfortable speaking to individuals. He usually remains silent, only speaking when spoken too but can talk for hours when he gets in the mood. Alone, he has a tendency to talk to himself and is usually seen humming a tune while he walks from place to place. He sometimes stutters when meeting new people. At the same time, this disposition is meant as a way to hide his past from others. Occasionally, he has a tendency to lose his temper and threaten people who cross him, though he tries his best not to show it as he wants to forget about his past and move on and hope that no one else learns about it. He is willing to do anything to make sure of this. Although he puts out a love of the people of Mythrite, he holds it in that he resents the town itself due to being stuck there due to his father’s actions and hopes more than anything to one day leave it all behind.
Childhood Description
Darovit Jone is a fifteen year old male human who lives in Mythrite. He is a good friend and student of Aymer Eligeiros.
Darovit had a hard life from a young age. His mother was frequently ill when he was younger and his father was an abusive alcoholic with outstanding debts. He was very close to his mother and would do anything to make her feel better, but she was unable to provide for them or protect him from his father due to her illness. His father would usually spend most of his time working to pay off his debts, or piling them up in the local bars, so he was never around. Though when he was, he was abusive to both his wife and Darovit, causing Darovit to spend large periods of time outside the house.
To help pay for medicine for his mother, Darovit joined a street gang at a young age and began to commit robberies. He never let his mother or father know where the money for the medicine was coming from, though his father frequently accused him of it but never had any proof.
When Darovit was 15, his father’s old friend Suud told him of an opportunity in a new settlement of Mythrite and offered to pay off his local in exchange for his father paying Suud back by working in the mines. Despite Darovit’s and his mother’s objections to moving due to her illness preventing her from traveling, his father moved them anyway.
When they were close to the town, his mother died of her illness which left Darovit with a permanent resentment towards his father, holding him responsible for her death. Also shortly after they arrived, his father was crippled in a mining accident which led to Suud placing all of the debts on young Darovit to pay off.
Not wanting to pay off the debts by working in the mines, Darovit decided to go back to stealing so it could be done with and he could leave the town as quickly as possible. One day, Darovit attempted to rob the home of Aymer Eligeiros only to run into him as he was leaving. Rather than punish him, Aymer was impressed by Darovit's intellect and ability to break through his complex security measures and offered him a job working as his student.
As a result, Darovit has become the go-to person in the town for odd jobs to support him and pay off his father’s debts. He has prided himself on helping others and improving himself to make up for his checkered past. Unfortunately, from time to time he still faces certain enemies such as his rival Charles Mornin, and debt collectors that punish him if he cannot pay off his father’s bar tab.
Overall, he is a hard working, responsible teen that hopes to one day follow in his mentor's footsteps. Though his ultimate desire is to be able to be free of his father’s debt and leave Mythrite forever and is willing to do anything to make this happen.
