Horger Batsk
Horger Bastsk has been working in the mines since word of the ore had first started spreading. He hoped to earn a fortune so he could retire. However, despite the fact that he is quite good at what he does, He has yet to do so. In his old age, working in the mine has become harder for him. Offering his services as a prospector, he is constantly telling new miners what to do and showing off his knowledge. This is always paired with saying how the new miner is likely to die in the mines, like himself. His voice is deep the way he speaks is raspy. It makes him sound very grumpy even when he is in a good mood, which is very infrequent. Horger also has a hate for the preachers. They distract him from his work by yelling about complete nonsense and he doesn’t understand why anyone would listen to them. According to him, there are no gods, only people that are too scared of the world to properly embrace it. He will commonly yell at them to shut up.
He believes that the reason he does not have all the money he wants is because of the merchants ripping him off. In his mind, they are lazy and manipulative. The way the social structure is, all the good folk are going to die in the mine while these people prosper. He takes comfort in the idea that someday, there might not be anyone left to work in the mine and these people will suffer because of it.
