Megan Norska
Megan Norska originally came to the boomtown of Mythrite because as the old saying goes, where there’s mithril there’s money. Riding into Mythrite seven months ago her plan was simple enough, meet the locals, get the lay of the land, haggle herself into a cartload of raw mithril, and leave. The longer she spent hobnobbing around Mythrite however, the more Megan could hear the call of her god, and the small jingle of opportunity. A follower of the golden lady is, after all, keen at spotting potential for profit that others would likely miss and between the rising class tensions, an untamed and unexploited local wilderness, and an aloof affluent ruling class, Mythrite was a town ripe for exploitation.
For followers of the goddess of trade, profit and piety are interchangeable. You won’t find Megan giving sermons or praying in some old dusty church. Instead, most likely you’ll find her wandering the streets of The Halberd and the markets searching for a bargain, or perhaps even offering one. Information, potions, weapons, tickets, knick-knacks, you name it, if you can think of it Megan is probably either buying or selling it.
The other residents of The Halberd and Mythrite at large consider the merchant priest as an oddity. In turn, Megan views each and every resident of Mythrite as family. After all, the golden lady teaches that a good customer or potential customer is just as valuable as any blood relative. Not to say she treats all of her family equally. Everyone plays favorites. Megan will often go out of her way to help her more regular or lucrative associates sometimes going as so far as to put herself in danger for them if need be. The same can't be said for her fair-weather customers.
Yet despite the contractual nature of her allegiances Megan never carries herself with the same haughty superiority the other merchants and wealthy upper class seem to in regards to doing business with the lower classes. Miner, lord, merchant, or criminal, everyone gets their fair share when dealing with Megan Norska, well, at least from their perspective. Megan has built a solid reputation as a shrewd businesswoman who’s bond is as good as her word, and whose word is as good as your gold.
