The Halberd

The Halberd, so named for its shape, consists of a sprawling series of dwellings that spread diagonally across the residential area south of Eronia and north of the Hall of the Mountain Kings!, Mythrilgrist, and The Korf. Some consider Eronia Minor to be part of the Halberd as the living conditions are virtually indistinguishable. It houses the highest percentage of the population and is the most mixed in terms of species and is the home of most miners. The most notable quality of the Halberd is its population density, where as many as ten people might occupy a two-room dwelling. Multiple dwellings frequently share common cooking or bathing areas, and much of life here is spent out of doors on balconies, porches, and squares. There is an unspoken tightknit quality to the community that has arisen in a short time, with neighbors generally looking after one another and taking comfort in each other's company. Many see this as a point of pride and a model for a more egalitarian, interspecies future of Mythrite. It is not without its troubles though, particularly in terms of gossip and allegations of petty theft. The harshness of the conditions can also inflame passions, and the tight quarters make it difficult for rivals or ex-lovers to avoid each other here.
