Fey'ri (Fae-Ree)

Fey'ri were not a true elven subrace. They were to elves as tieflings were to humans and tanarukks were to orcs. The fey'ri were the result of interbreeding between sun elves and tanar'ri in an attempt to strengthen the sun elf bloodline.[3] The fey'ri resembled elves "the way tieflings resemble humans". Some fey'ri were not visibly different to elves at all, while others had fangs, forked tongues, horns, or barbed tails in varying combination. Some had multiple sets of arms and one or more sets of wings.[1]

Character Options

Fey'ri are quite independent and tend to be chaotic in their nature. Those, who survived the purging of Daemonfey tend to be evil, though some may have changed their view on life.
Speed:Your base walking speed is 30 feet.
Darkvision: You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can't discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.
Fey Ancestry: You have advantage on saving throws against being charmed and magic can't put you to sleep.
Trance: Just as elves, fey'ri don’t need to sleep. Instead, they meditate deeply, remaining semiconscious, for 4 hours a day. (The Common word for such meditation is “trance.”) While meditating, you can dream after a fashion; such dreams are actually mental exercises that have become reflexive through years of practice. After resting in this way, you gain the same benefit that a human does from 8 hours of sleep.
Elven Mask: As an action, you can shift your appearance to be less fiendish, appearing as a normal elf but recognizable you. You can shift back as an action and revert to your true form when you die.
Elvish Blood: Fey'ri are considered elves for all special abilities and effects. For example, a Fey´ri can create elven magical objects as shown in the table "Elven Magical Objects for Fey'ri" and belong to prestige classes reserved for elves.

Sub-Race

When the Daemonfey were still in power, Winged and Hell-warrior fey'ri were more frequent. Today, when the taint of corruption is less powerful, more Trickster and Sun-blessed fey'ri tend to be born.

The unearthly beauty of the fey bloodline, corrupted by the brutish features of fiends - that is how fey'ri look. Resembling elves in their features, yet having something from their devilish blood - barbed tails, fangs, forked tongues, horns or any combination of them. Biological Traits

Growth Rate & Stages

Although fey'ri reach physical maturity at about the same age as humans, the elven understanding of adulthood goes beyond physical growth to encompass worldly experience. Fey'ri typically claims adulthood and an adult name around the age of 100 and can live to be 1000 years old.

Behaviour

Fey'ri considered their bloodline to be very important, and prided themselves on being able to trace it back to House Dlardrageth or the daemonfey. This meant that breeding typically only occurred with other fey'ri or, very rarely, elves, but they generally rejected the notion of elven resemblance as offensive.[1] The fey'ri would generally look negatively upon outsiders, but were respectful towards intelligence, strength, and flexible morals. Even once having made a "friend", a fey'ri would abandon that person immediately if the fey'ri saw that individual as more than a minor annoyance.[1]

Additional Information

Social Structure

Fey'ri sought to reestablish the old elven realms of Cormanthor with themselves at their head.[3] They have an autarchic way of life, with a strong sense of community.[3] After the death of Sarya Dlardrageth, most fey'ri considered themselves to be without a leader. As of 1479 DR, however, Lilianviaten claimed to be an older brother of Sarya and the "Last Heir", and claimed to have escaped imprisonment, roaming freely and undiscovered for thousands of years.[1] Some fey'ri were raised amongst elves, some never knowing their true nature.

Average Intelligence

Fey'ri had a talent for the use of magic, and some would practice bladesong. Almost all fey'ri had the ability to change shape, which aided in concealing themselves in society. Other abilities varied, including producing flames, draining life, or resisting spells.[1] Most fey'ri became sorcerers, rogues, or fighters.[3]

Civilization and Culture

Naming Traditions

Fey'ri, mostly, have elven names. Though those, who were a part of the Daemonfey army, had their family names changed into Abyssal and somehow connected with greatness, power and destiny, to reflect their importance for the elven kind. Those fey'ri, that are born today into societies, that fear them or shun, are often given "cursed names" - syllables, resembling the sound of a broken twig or dry leaves indicate such names.

Culture and Cultural Heritage

Religion

Despite their elven blood, fey'ri did not worship the good gods of the Seldarine, but neither did they follow the tiefling practice of worshiping demons. Instead, one of the elders of the Floshin house had been converted to Ghaunadaur's cult for centuries, until the majority of the fey'ri worshiped The Elder Eye, a clear sign of their corruption.[3] The rare neutral fey'ris had proved receptive to Fenmarel Mestarine, the god of banished elves and pariahs. A few fey'ri had begun worshiping him in secrets in the hopes of learning how to survive in Faerun without drawing the ire of their Ghaunadauran family members.[3]

History

Fey'ri were born from cross-breeding between four nobles houses of sun elves with succubi in order to strengthen their lineage.[3] The fey'ri fought during the Crown Wars.[1] The first house was the Dlardrageth from Cormanthor which was imprisoned after being discovered by others elves. During their detention, they made an alliance with three minor houses from Siluvanede. The houses released the Dlardrageth in exchange for magical objects, and they also procreated with demons. In the end, they all got magically locked up until three members of the clan got free and destroyed the magical seal.[3] After that event, Sarya Dlardrageth launched the invasion of Evereska and then of Myth Drannor with thousands of fey'ri, demons, and orcs but were defeated by Seiveril Miritar leading a crusade of volunteers from Evermeet that later turned into a return.[6][7][8]

Fey'ri in Mnemosyne( Original Content)

Fey'ri are the product of the union of a Succubus/Incubus and a Elf. They have existed on Mnemosyne for millennia and did so in hiding tending to masquerade themselves as normal elves of various subspecies. They all tended to fall on the evil side of the alignment chart. The Fey'ri where well known assassins and cultists. In the area of Mnemosyne that would later become the shard known as Calliope or Vagus a Fey'ri is believed the cause of the animosity between Elves and Dwarves. This was the case for centuries. Just after the shattering of Mnemosyne many of the Fey'ri on the planet where thrown into the Feywild and Shadowfell as a result. They where unable to return to the material plane for thousands of years due to the divine and necrotic fallout of the event that caused the event. This caused the Fey'ri to be altered by their new homes and it cause them to change in a way.

Feywild Fey'ri

Those Fey'ri who where thrown into the Feywild during the event that fractured Mnemosyne caused them to be altered in such a way that they physically more resemble Eladrin rather then your typical run of the mill ordinary material plane elf. Due to their time in the Feywild the Fey'ri have had their fey nature reawakened. Although their demonic nature still exists it has been tempered by the magics of the Feywild and as a result they tend more to neutral alignments with some going as far a good alignments. Although their demonic natures still dwell within them which normally pushes them to be more chaotic in nature.

Shadowfell Fey'ri

Those Fey'ri who where thrown into the Shadowfell during the event that fractured Mnemosyne caused them to be altered in such a way that they physically more resemble Drow rather then your typical run of the mill ordinary material plane elf. Due to their time in the Shadowfell the Fey'ri have had their abyssal nature reawakened. Although their fey nature still exists it has been tempered by the magics of the Shadowfell and as a result they tend more to evil alignments with some going as far a neutral alignments. Although their fey natures still dwell within them which normally pushes them to be more chaotic in nature.
