Sylve

While Piatarnia is on the shore and Welden in the plains, Sylve is in the heart of Elyades' forest. It provides wood for the region, fruits for the Karnassians' brewery, and storage for the goods coming in and out of the province.

Layout

Sylve is a typical menicean village with a large place at its center, habitations and utility buildings in its inner circle, and workshops on the outside.
What makes Sylve unique is its architecture. Villagers kept the old elyadesian tradition of building houses around big trees. While already waterproof, the roofs are covered with beautiful homemade tapestries. These paint beautiful sceneries during each season, either contrasting or blending with the natural colors.

Demographics

Sylve is the smallest village of the region, with only 200 inhabitants. Everyone kind of know each other and enjoy spending time together after work for a game of dominoes or two.
Whenever a new family moves into the village, they are given a plot with a bare tree to build their houses. Sylvians believe that the tree, symbol of nature and thus giraun, represent the family's health and helps to keep it up. During the move, prayers to giraun will be recited many times to bind the family to their new vegetal room-mate.

Assets and infrastructure

Sylve's contribution to the province's life is wood and fruits. The village has a few sawmills and cabinetmakers for the first and large orchards of poigrumiers for the second.
Since the village is the closest to the peninsula's access to the land, it has many warehouses to store imported and exported goods. The governance had a caravanserai built after the region produced enough to actively export.
Due to its low population, Sylve rarely needs police interventions. Policemen from Piatarnia come checking the village once a week or whenever they are needed.
