Forest Temple
Purpose / Function
The Forest Temple is the most significant temple of the Golden Goddess Farore in Hyrule.
Alterations
The Forest Temple has been expanded and renovated and built upon for centuries. Located in a swamp, it is actually perpetually sinking deeper into the muck, leading to the most ancient levels of the structure being deeply subterranean and nigh-inaccessible.
Architecture
The architecture of the Forest Temple changes as you progress through it. The most traveled area, the first ante-chamber where masses are held, was constructed not long after the death of Queen Zelda I and reflects the architecture of the time. Those who progress further, whether they be pilgrims or archeologists, find that the architectural styles steadily regress through the centuries.
History
An ancient holy complex in the Faron Woods, the Forest Temple was built in time immemorial. Centuries of forest dwellers have worshipped Farore here, from the mythical Kokiri to the magical Koroks to the province's modern-day inhabitants.
