Emone

The Knower

Knowledge is power and understanding is enlightenment. Emone is said to have come from another place than the rest of the pantheon and has come to observe and record. It is said that he looks to create the Metatext, which would give enlightenment to anyone who would read it. His worshipers keep journals and it is said that everything that they write appears in Emone’s tome of the Metatext. Information is vital and should be open and free, and deceptions should be avoided. Scribes, lore keepers, and bards alike worship Emone, gathering as much information as they can in their travels and research.

Emone is most commonly depicted in brown robes with the hood drawn up, his face cast in shadow. In his hands is a giant bound tome—the Metatext—which he records in continuously.

Tenets of Faith

  • Information that is not recorded and saved is information that is lost.
  • Read letters and transcribe information for the poor and spread literacy wherever you go.
  • Record every story, every song, and every tale you hear and make it free for all to read so that lying tongues cannot distort the truth.

Holidays

His holy day is The Naming Day and is celebrated in the summer as new followers are given their “true name” and traditionally new agreements or pacts are made, and many written contracts, deeds, and bonds are drawn up.
