Maevdora Mountains

The Maevdora Mountains rise majestically along the southern edge of the Isle of Olwyn, forming a natural barrier that separates the coastal regions from the rugged interior of the island. These mountains, though not as tall as some of the ranges found in the northern isles, are still imposing, with jagged peaks and steep cliffs that cut through the landscape.   Rich in natural resources, the Maevdora Mountains have long been a hub of mining activity, particularly by the hill dwarves of Bhaghgrom, who extract precious metals and stone from the mountains' deep veins. The mountains' lower slopes are dotted with mining operations, where both dwarves and humans work together to gather valuable resources that are traded across the Moontide Isles.   The mountains are also known for their wild beauty, with alpine meadows, fast-flowing streams, and deep ravines that carve through the rocky landscape. Falkinwood Forest, to the northwest, stretches close to the mountain range, with the foothills gradually giving way to dense woodlands. While the Maevdora Mountains are rich in life, they are also home to dangerous creatures, including mountain trolls, giant eagles, and even the occasional wyvern sighting.   For travelers and merchants, the mountains are a challenging but necessary crossing point, particularly for those seeking to trade between the coastal towns and the interior. The dwarves of Bhaghgrom maintain some of the mountain passes, ensuring that there are safe routes through the more treacherous parts of the range. However, the higher peaks remain untamed and dangerous, prone to rockslides and sudden storms that make travel difficult.   The Maevdora Mountains play a significant role in the geography and economy of the Isle of Olwyn, acting as both a natural barrier and a source of wealth for those who call the island home. Their wild beauty and danger make them a respected part of Olwyn's landscape, where the land itself shapes the lives of those who live near it.
