Lord Maximillian D'arlington
Maximillian is the eldest son of Rochelle D'arlington and patriarch of the D'arlington family and estate since his father's passing. Maximillian's family is rumored to have been cursed by a fey that was slain on their lands by one of their ancestors. The curse seems to strike in the form of fatal accidents during the eldest child's coming-of-age milestones (coming into adulthood, marriage, having their first child). The D'arlington family holds property in Copperport, where they hold numerous mining interests in the nearby hills and mountains.
Maximillian was to marry Lysandrea Isillothe, though he seemed to not consider fidelity as an integral part of marriage. He boasted about his previous conquests and made advances toward Tiarjead on his wedding day. He was found dead outside of the Silver Lodge shortly before the marriage was to take place, showing signs of potential poisoning as well as a fall from the top floor of the Lodge into a gully below.
It was ultimately determined that Thalgion Isillonthe pushed Maximillian from the balcony of the Silver Lodge, killing him. The poison symptoms were the result of a mixture of anit-venom, given to him by his valet to keep him from growing too drunk, and a sleeping draught given to him by his brother, Sirbastien, out of jealousy for marrying Lysandrea and wanting to sabotage their wedding night.
