Alterations
Originally the building has been the following things:
- 118 F.E. Mayor Tiello attempts to use the building to create a Town Hall, but the lack of privacy and personal nerves got in the way of the project.
- 120 F.E. Mayor Tiello attempts to turn the town into a Community Center, but it is an inconvenient location for the flow of traffic.
- 125 F.E. Bishop Musashi Ron Da'Ishi attempted to make the building a Church.
- 125 F.E. Carson and Asano Harloff turn the building into a Community Center and Library.
Architecture
The building is made in the Mashica style.
The building itself is a Hexagonal structure, where the rooms within are also hexagons made to fit one another. The Inside is well lit, in spite of the windows not being visible from the outside. In addition it is furnished in a mixture of Aurumi horticulture and Argenti furnishings, with assortments of objects donated to the Library of differing cultural phenomenon.
History
The structure was built long before the Voyagers first arrived, as the nearby Akacheta tribes have stated it predates even their arrival. Found near the Venemo Swamp along the Voyager River, it was unique in being the only structure fully standing and intact amidst the swamps. The nearby Akacheta Tribes considered the building to be indicative of where the land was most safe to build upon.
Because of this, the Voyagers settled in the area and the city of Faircaster founded using the land around soon to be Library.
In recent years it has changed ownership. Originally it was to be a community center, but the local populace were too busy setting up rice paddies and farmland to engage. In 120 F.E. the Dusk Mage Bishop Musashi Ron Da'Ichi bought the building from Mayor Tiello and attempted to build an Avid Discipleship.
In 125 F.E., disputes between the Mastersmiths and the Dusk Mage ultimately led to both group leaving from the area, abandoning the building. Later in 125 F.E. Carson Harloff moved to the area. He acquired the rights to the building from the Mayor and, with significant aid from the Occulo Society, refurnished the building into the Faircaster Library.
Tourism
The Library attracts all manner of scholars brave enough to travel west of Yonara or East of Three Point River. The Head Librarian welcomes any donations to the library, and will even buy some books from travelers, including scrolls, recipes, and copies of legal documentation.
