Ciria Rarel

The daughter of farmers on the Mosslyn estates, Ciria was given as a child bride to Vincent Rarel when she was only thirteen and married into the noble family. While the Rarel family was concerned about this, her family had been compensated with a very large sum of gold, and the promise of great care. And indeed she was. Vincent treated her with great care and respect as the practice of older nobles taking on such young brides had fallen out of fashion, and was entirely devoted to her every desire. Eleven years later she gave birth to Luther Rarel, more than content to never have to deal with the headaches of the main branch of the Mosslyn family. 
When Vincent died, Ciria wore mourning clothing until her granddaughter Melāny was born, and she started to come out from her dark depression whenever she was around her 'little blossom'. Ciria wrote to Luther, Vivian, and Melāny when she was away at the Enclave, requesting letters back and enjoying the little flowers that her granddaughter would place into the letters she was given back.
Just after Melāny was known to be courting Petor officially, Ciria began to visit the Holhawk estate often to see her, and the Rarels remained a very close-knit family. In late Agrus Ciria went to once more visit the Holhawks when she was attacked on the road by bandits. The surviving guard stated that she refused to give up a pendant she had been given by her granddaughter and was killed in the resulting fight after wounding the assailant when he attempted to threaten one of her guards to gain it. She was buried on the Rarel Estate near the tree that she and Melāny planted together when she was a toddler.
