The Czerezen Crisis was a war spanning across the entirety of Uralease originating in the most northwest regions. The war lasted from the 28th of Lise 12 PCC to the 42nd of Breyfall 0 CC. The war led to the deaths of well over 80 million people and the destruction of uncounted artifacts.

On the 28th of Lise 12 PCC, Hrvatin Czerezen, the lord of the Czerezen Empire, began the invasion of the Surface. His armies forcing their way through the same gates they were forced to flee through to wage war against the Surface. Thousands of years prior loyalist high elves of the now fallen Elven Empire began a systematic genocide of the “Dark Elves”, who had up until that point been staunch supporters of the Reformists. This caused the Drow, under the banner of the now created House Czerezen to flee into the underdark and construct the Moon Gate to keep themselves safe from the genocidal fervor of the high elves.   The resurgence of the Czerezen threatened the existence of every great nation in Uralease. This threat would lead nations that had previously held long standing grudges to put aside their grievousness and unite against their mutual enemy. These nations would eventually create the 3rd Great Coalition. This coalition would be broken some 4 years after it's initial founding.   The Czerezen would capture and hold the entirety of the Elven Shards with the exception of the Talus heartland surrounding the great city of Ralidan. The Czerezen would come to hold the majority of the continent   The forces of the Underdark were ruthless and unrelenting, killing and destroying everything in their path. Seeking revenge for the death of their people the Dark Elves would take high elves alive to be sacrificed. These elves would be burnt at the stake, executed en mass, or used as components for Blood Magic. There are many recorded events, such as the "Massacre at Inlemelle," in which Dark Elven Bloodpriests, sacrificed high elves to a being known as "The One Who Watches." The first recorded knowledge of the "Witch King" of Czerezen was also recovered in the ruins of Inlemelle, though the texts were vague and unconclusive leading some to question whether or not this Witch King really exists.
