Basic Information

Anatomy

Hienosens appear as large hyenas in anatomy with short dark brown fur, with lighter brown stripes. The also have a row of spikes hidden in a line of longer light brown fur that follows along their spine. They also have oversize under jaws with fangs that protrude outside their mouth. They also have 4 large claws on all four legs.

Genetics and Reproduction

Hinsoen will migrate to the northern regions every 3 years during winter for mating season so that can give birth to litter or 1-3 cubs. All cubs are raised by the pack. by the time summer arrives the pack and young cub begin to migrate.

Growth Rate & Stages

Cubs are born in the spring month and by midsummer are grown enough to migrate with the pack. However they are not old enough to go on the hunt. During this stage all the cubs will establish a hierarchy of dominance. After the first year the cubs will join the pack in the hunt. Then at about 2 years of ages the Heinosen that survive will become fully mature adults.

Ecology and Habitats

Hienosen can survive in a variety of climate from the hot northern reason to the cold southern reason. However they typically migrate in search of various food sources.

Dietary Needs and Habits

Heinosen are carnivorous and famous from their savage tactics. The pack employ group strategy to single out and hunt down prey. Their paralyzing saliva helps to slow down their prey until prey is not able to move. Then with their powerful bite , the pack will rip apart the prey into pieces, sometimes even before the prey is still alive. The alpha members will save meat for the cubs and the rest is fought over by the members. Heinosens are famous for not leaving any part of a carcass after a feeding .

Additional Information

Social Structure

Hienosens live in pack with a aggressive hierarchy of power. The biggest and strongest members dominate over the lower rank members. This ranking system is establish when they are cub. While the pack goes to hunt the cubs commonly fight to establish dominance under the watchful of the lowest ranking member of the pack. Once established this hierarchy will continue into adulthood. Once pack are matriarchal as female are naturally bigger and stronger than the males.   Also is a pack grows to large in size the younger and lower ranking members will commonly be kicked out and forced to establish their own pack. This lesser pack commonly will create a great deal of distance between their origin pack as rival pack are extremely aggressive with one another. In fact when competing packs cross, a battle ensues untill one pack runoff in defeat or all members are one pack are killed.

Domestication

Hienosens are not tameable their immunity to direct magic prevents them from being controlled. Plus their own aggressive nature prevent them from easily being tames through no magical techniques.

Uses, Products & Exploitation

  • Hienosen Saliva is used as a paralyzing poison which can be enhanced with magical manipulations
  • Hienosen blood can be use as a writing agent in manic manipulations involving antimagic. It also provides an anidote to heinosen saliva
  • Hienosen pelts are sought after as they also retain some anti-magic resistence of the wearer.

Geographic Origin and Distribution

Hienosens can technically found in all regions. However they tend to migrate between areas with ample prey to hunt.

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

Hienosens have an extraordinary sense of smell and hearing. However they are know to have poor eyesight.   As for magic capabilities, they are not capable of casting magic manipulation themselves. However they have a connection to antimagic that gives them a natural immunity to magic. These means they are unaffected by magic manipulations enacted directly on them. Thus they can pass through tired magic barriers, break through seals and ignore enchantments. In fact enchanted items weaken after prolonged contact with Hienosens. Only Anit-magic can be used in this full effectiveness against hienosens. Still hienosens are still effected by magically created constructs, elements or creations. Thus while a hienosens are immune to a petrification spell they would still get crushed by a bolder created by stone magic.

Symbiotic and Parasitic organisms

Hienonsens are know to be natural enemies with Lunalupo , as lunalupos packs are some of the few packs that can combat a Hienosen pack effectively. Conflicts between theses pack often end with casualties on both sides.
