Professor Mono-Uchi

Covered in ash and missing a few fingers, Professor Mono-Uchi teaches Trades/Metallurgy with the skill of a million craftspeople, the reserved discipline of steel, and the temperament of a whining child.

During Houndsmoth:

In this course, Mono-Uchi teaches his students how to design and build anything from any material, how to use power tools found in a wood shop, the various professions and how to work in them, how to work with various metals (even how to create your own building materials), and how to forge intricate pieces of art and/or industry.

To graduate, a student must design and complete an approved project by Mono-Uchi that covers all of his construction principles while making all of their own building materials.

His students will be ready to be carpenters, architects, designers, artists, handimen, mechanics, metalworkers & fabricators, construction engineers, & independents with the mindset that you can build the world into anything with the right tools, the right vision, and the proper skill.

Mono-Uchi's mindset represents the determination, discipline, pride & skill it takes to create anything that lasts the test of time. Even if it means keeping tradition over efficiency.

Mono-Uchi is a traditionalist when it comes to his building projects. He teaches his students exactly how he and his previous masters were taught, with no deviations. But when a new (and possibly more efficient) method of producing the same product is introduced, he stamps his foot down and refuses to change.

This stubborn mentality put him in constant conflict with Professor Neri and her culture of constant innovation.

In Season 1, Silas Yamane uses Mono-Uchi's proven construction principles to beat a video game created by Professor Neri's TAs Billy "Ticker" Birkeland & Jesse "Tucker" Turner by exploiting a loophole in their coding.
