Silas Yamane

The main protagonist of the series as well as a key figure in potential spins-offs, Silas Yamane is a rebellious youth, everyone can see themselves as, who learns to grasp the bigger picture of Mr. Houndsmoth's plans once he's overcome himself and society's pull on his life.

Before Houndsmoth:

Silas was an apathetic kid from a well-off family from Santa Barbara. He let the everyone else dictate the events of his life. He was put in a lot of events by his parents, but never sought any real connections. He wanted to list through his teenage years, but something would always come up to ruin his plans.

The only friends he had were the ones he hung out with at the skate park near Leadbetter Beach. Not being the best influences, he would cause all kinds of mischief within this group. Until one day, the police caught the group and arrested Silas for drug possession.

He knew his "friends" planted it in his backpack so he'd take the fall. Because of this incident, his parents were contacted by Mr. Houndsmoth, the headmaster of the "Houndsmoth School for Empowered Learning," and convinced them to send Silas to Houndsmoth Manor.

During Houndsmoth:

When Silas arrived, he strove to do the least amount of work possible and isolate himself from others. Even as his daily task required him to help others. He'd rather watch movie trailers for Superior Force: The Movie and let someone else determine his fate.

However, every circumstance at the school forces him to do the opposite; making him play an active role in the events of his life by making his own decisions.

Even his first day at Houndsmoth involved him actively choosing to either participate or succumb.

Such as journeying through a haunted forest, escaping a pack of man-eating dogs, discovering a seemingly invisible orange dog connected to the superhero comics of Sierra Squad and the school, saving the school from catastrophic flooding, and surviving a meeting with the Lovecraftian Mr. Houndsmoth.

Throughout his tenure at Houndsmoth, time and again, Silas will be challenged to follow through on a seemingly impossible task and choose to overcome or succumb to it with the help of his mysterious dog, his classmates & even his teachers; primarily Benjamin "Bengee" Livingston, Victoria Oxbow, Wyatt Collins, even William Johnston & Mallory Craigshaw.

After Houndsmoth:

When Silas escapes from The Abyss, he receives his superpowers. However, he learns that something has taken over his identity in his old family.

Now, completely detached from his former life and armed with the wisdom he gain at Houndsmoth, Silas devotes himself to finding Mr. Houndsmoth again while supporting himself in the SPPC industry he unknowingly helped create.
