Migration's Toast

This 'Alashaia shandy (an equal mix of Ale and 'alashaia juice, from the fruit which is in great abundance during the migratory season) is known for its sweet flavor and smoothness going down. It is most commonly called Migration's Toast, after its key role in offerings to the Snow Pup Migration. However, among the clans between the Wide Pass and Lesser Pass, who are known for their particularly strong ale blends, this drink is sometimes called the Fainting Horn after the method by which they usually consume it, and its inevitable results.
Migration's Toast is widely considered a "festive" or "seasonal" drink, the beverage version of Kʉrdeneχ (although it is highly uncommon to consume the two together). It is considered highly unusual to drink it "out of season", akin to eggnog on Earth.

Manufacturing process

The ale and 'alashaia juice blend together easily, although a good shake or stir certainly helps the process. Frequently the liquids are poured separately into a container of some kind (sometimes a tankard, sometimes a horn, sometimes something else entirely) and blended. Unusually for items of religious significance, this process can be performed by just about anyone, and often young children offer to help.

Significance

Migration's Toast is deeply connected with the migratory season, to the point where it is sometimes joked or stereotyped as the "post-mating season drink". It holds significance as a common (and to some clans, standard) libation to Migration, and its preparation and use in this capacity is considered the "official" midpoint of the migratory season.

Migration's Toast is only manufactured from late in the month of Long Night through the very earliest weeks of Breaking of the Flats, often just slightly after the Stenza return home. Outside of this time frame, it is impossible to come by.

Raw materials & Components

A good Migration's Toast (and many argue, the only proper way to make it) consists of equal parts ale and the juice of 'alashaia fruit. The concoction will be more highly regarded if each ingredient is fresh.
