Weaving
After the fibers have been spun into thread, that thread can be woven on a Loom into cloth, which can then be used for clothing. All weaves follow the same basic principles, but each clan has their own patterns, and people can add their own dramatic flair to the weave, and to the dyes applied later.
Outside of clan and regional patterns, there is a form of weaving flair wherein pups who want to help with textile production are allowed to move the shuttle, producing sections of fabric which are distinct from the rest of the cloth. These sections are commonly called "pup sections" or "pups' work" (sometimes "pup perfect" is used) and considered special parts of the fabric. (Pups, in their notorious fickleness, do not always add this touch to fabrics, or sometimes go overboard on a given work. This fickleness and variability adds to the charm of these sections of fabric.)
Utility
Weaving is one process by which yarn can be converted into fabric, so any "misuses" fall under the category of "misuse of this product made by a given weaver". Almost all fabrics are used to make clothes, often by being wrapped around a wearer and secured with a bone pin.
Access & Availability
Weaving is ubiquitous, although it requires the use of large, heavy equipment and a fair bit of time. Weaving is a slightly rarer skill among the general public as a result.
Discovery
As with spinning, the exact discovery of weaving is unknown, although it is known that the technology was in use by the time of the earliest ruins known to the Stenza, as evinced by the tools, remains thereof, and remains of thread and cloth found among the ruins.
I love the idea of Stenza weaving. I really like that each weaver adds their own little flair.
