The xenophobic human Konigstadt Empire seeks to tighten its borders against threats from all sides including within. From the The Northern Rebels, from underneath the Duergar, to the west the fear the magic of the, more cosmopolitan, The Freee Cities Alliance and to the east they fight for control of the spice isles with the saurian empire. Further to the north the isolated nation of Draconia balances on a knife edge as the Dwarven Stoneclaw Federation seeks to destabilize the oppressive regime. Meanwhile, in the south, the cities of parabola, and naldim engage in trade wars, and sometimes actual wars as they seek to control the island chains separating them, though a kind of half peace is maintained by the inhabitants of Chelys and their threat of using a dragon tortoise.
