Watcher's Mound

Through The Dauer Mountains leads only one accessible road: The Dauer pass. Lord Commander Marcus Vardenfell recognizing its strategic and economic importance early on, commanded a fortress to be built halfway along the pass, made possible with the excess of building materials and wealth from the reconquest of Mazaar. It is built as both a defensive structure against invasion (be it from the south or the north) and as a means of raising taxes. Officially it falls under the jurisdiction of the Windhelm chaptermaster.
