Daisy Clevenger

Daisy Clevenger is a relative newcomer to town, having lived here a little more than a year. It's no secret that she came to attend Munson Academy and specifically to work with Prof. Amos Church, but it turns out the two didn't see eye to eye on a number of matters, most importantly the presence of the Divine in the everyday. Amos maintains that the miracles described in the Bible are better understood as supernatural events misunderstood by an uncivilized people. That didn't sit well with Daisy, who dropped out after realizing there would be no convincing her would-be mentor.   Daisy sees Munson as a holy place of sorts, believing that everything on this earth is made in God's image. She takes quite the opposite position as Amos, instead lecturing that the strange happenings around Munson are indeed supernatural, in the same sense that the raising of Lazarus or the resurrection of Christ was supernatural. Humans and our mundane existence are natural, yet we are surrounded at all times by the supernatural and need to understand it as such. A vicious wolf or poisonous spider are here on earth to do God's will, though we might find them frightening and not understand their purpose. Why would the shambling shadow in the woods be any different?   Daisy is a meek, passive woman who can be found tending to the daily affairs of the First Universalist Church. She hates confrontation and will passively give way if challenged, but becomes quite animated, passionate, and intense when asked to share her views on the relationship between her Christian faith and what we can only describe as occult happenings.
