Uncanny Occurrence
Police Report 09/29/1888
Filer: Mrs. Bettie Ransted
Statement:
Mrs. Ransted: "It was last night and the night before. The doorknobs of the house rattled violently multiple times, as if someone was trying to get inside. That progressed into something scraping against the windows. Poor Vera, she almost had a heart attack. I think someone is living on the estate and trying to get in at night. I don't know who would do such a thing, especially so soon after my Malcolm's passing."
Officer on Duty: "Was there anything that you remember that could help identify this person?"
Mrs. Ransted: "Well, there was something about the path that whatever it was took about the house. It seemed to know about the little quirks of the grounds. There's this root that always gets new people that come to the house, but Vera and I have learned to step over it by now. I didn't hear it trip up as it went by."
OOD: "I'm sorry, Mrs. Ransted, I'm not sure that's suppose to help me."
Mrs. Ransted: "Well it means that it must be someone familiar with the grounds of the estate, or someone, something, that doesn't walk on the ground... I must go, please excuse me"
OOD: "Oh, well, umm.. We have your information if we find anything out"
Mrs. Ransted: "Thank you officer, please reach out if there are any developments"
